Job Description
The Insights & Analytics team within AB’s Private Client Group is looking for an Analyst to join the team and to improve overall team productivity. Insights & Analytics is responsible for developing tools, models, reports, and/or analyses to answer key business questions and to enable improved productivity. We typically work in one of four specific areas: 1) building a data infrastructure, by converting “raw” data into useful actionable information; 2) conducting analyses at the request of partners and internal clients to answer key business questions; 3) building reports (in Excel and/or Power BI) to enable our partners to have improved access to key data; and 4) creating datasets to enable the creation of dashboards by a development team.
The candidate will report to the VP of Insights & Analytics and will produce analytic deliverables to help measure and improve various business outcomes such as AB’s digital and offline marketing strategies, client acquisition strategies, portfolio optimization, etc. The role will be “hands on” with data and will access data across multiple channels including web data, client data, and business performance data. Based within the advanced analytics team, the role will be an expert in transforming raw data into accurate, impactful, analyses, including reporting, predictive modeling, and ad-hoc analyses. The role will require extensive knowledge of Excel and SQL, as well as other advanced database mining languages for extracting and analyzing data.
Analytic projects will typically be either short-term (less than one week) or medium term (3-4 weeks). The candidate will work closely with other team members to establish our hypotheses, the data, the approach, and the desired deliverable, and then will work to deliver a satisfactory deliverable that meets our client’s expectations.
